Bok Choy pt.3

Haven't posted in a while, so I leave you with this. Bah! School interrupted the patterns of drawing and blogging I was trying to put in place for myself! I'm gonna try to figure out a balance so that I can accomplish everything I want to. :)

Changes in Progress...?

This thing is difficult to subscribe to and follow, isn't it? Bah!
I've been thinking about this a lot recently, and looking for other options. Currently, I'm researching WordPress, and life looks pretty good over there. Sleek designs, more user friendly widgets, and other goodies like multiple pages. O_o So, I may decide to migrate over there in the future. We'll see.

In other news, I recently decided to draw five of my friends. I told them I wanted to draw five faces, first come first serve, and they came. Yay. :D The plan is to sketch those, then let people vote on which one they like best. The best one will get colored and posted here (or WordPress if I decide to move there before I finish this little project...)! Excitement! I'll probably start on those sketches tomorrow. So long! I'll leave you with this lame scribble narwhal.

The Dapper Quail

A friend of mine recently had a birthday, and my gift to her was custom, designed on the spot t-shirt. :) I have yet to finalize the design and get it printed and sent to her, but I wanted to show you guys the design. :P With her right there giving input, we ended up with this. A purple quail (quail is her spirit animal) in a vest, monocle, and top hat. Because, as she often says, and as shall be printed on the back of the t-shirt, "Everything is better with a top hat."

What remains left to be done is to preserve translucency in the background of the image, since we're printing it on a gray shirt. It seems that Cafe Press's customization interface only creates translucency out of white spaces when the t-shirt is light colored, whereas this is a dark gray we're working with. So, I have to figure that out. We were thinking of just printing it with my lamely matched gray colored box around the bird, but I know I can do better, so I'm gonna figure this transparency issue out.

Prehistoric Pinkness

So... I saw a pink dinosaur somewhere and thought "I want to draw a pink dinosaur..." So I took an image of a t-rex, traced it and made it pink (I don't trust my dino drawing skillz). xD I think it'd make a neat t-shirt..

Someone's Special Netherdrake...

This is for a friend. Just a quick sketch, but they've been wanting me to draw this creature a long time. :)

Also, I finally have the full version of Sketchbook Express! Yaaay!

Achievement!

Why is this an achievement? Because I said so! It felt like a good number! Well... It's actually 51, now... but I reached 50 posts today. :P

Foreign Vegetables

This is pretty self explanatory. So far there are four parts to this, and two or so more that I need to draw yet. :P I started drawing these a while ago, as things were happening, but then had a "meh" moment and nothing's happened on it since. XD So, I'll start posting these every once in a while and probably finish them up sometime. Simply click it to enlarge the image to a readable size (if you didn't know how to do that already. ^_^).

I felt abstract today...

...and so I ended up with something that I think would be really cool as a fabric! Perhaps I'll take a closer look at the fabric customization site, Spoonflower...

I saved two versions. Which one do you like better?

Huzzah for pointy eared people

Today, a boy called Hu Yui floated down from the sky to save the world. That's right; I'm playing Skyward Sword. And since they Legend of Zelda games usually give you the option to enter your own name when you start the game,  ANOTHER new character has been added to my collection! O_o There must be hundreds now... Link is neat, but I just love making people up, so *poof*, Hu Yui appears.

I sorta based this outfit on what I was wearing today, which was influenced by the styles around Skyloft. But actually, my tunic is a lot darker... I made it a lighter purple to seem more cheerful, like most of the Skyloft clothes. And that's not pink. That's tomato-stain red (and... actually.. my pants are grey.. But that just seemed too gloomy!). :P

Simple Coloring

I didn't feel much like doodling today, so a chibi self portrait with no shading is all you get. :P

Dramatic Jinhai is Dramatic

Liek, srsly. Jinhai looks really dramatic from this angle. I think it's the bangs.

Also, today is the birthday of my uncle who I attribute much of my enjoyment of Japanese culture, manga, and the manga art style to.
So, Oji-san, o-tanjoubi omedeto!
Feliz cumpleaños!
Saengil chukha hamnida!

Maa-a-a

So, I haven't been watching developments in the Minecraft circles very closely the past few months, but apparently Minecraft 1.3 is coming out tomorrow. People have been telling me that making servers is gonna be a made a whole lot easier and reminding me that they want to play in a solo world I put a lot of effort into a long time ago. The one with the glorious farm full of colorful sheep. Every color of sheep possible can be found there. There are also towns and villages I've built, and more to do. I want to have my buddies help me build a city on the other end of a most glorious bridge I built once. :D So anyway, this rainbow sheep and I are wondering what else is in store for this wonderful game!

Note: There aren't actually sheep that look like the one above. I don't have any texture packs applied to that world. This sheep is merely a representation of the variety of colors available. xD

My Rendition of the Female Pandaren Child

So, a friend and I saw this image floating about the internet somewhere, and I thought, "That's cute, Blizz, but I could draw it cuter."

The friend said, and I quote, "doooooooooooooooo eit," so I did. Here's the result. :)

On Characters and Digital Art Programs...

Looks like a future awesomesauce adventure group to me! These are some kids from the cast of a short, practice my friend and I are writing. Names from the left: Syuma, Skander, Luwan, and Nobundo.

It took me awhile to color this. @_@ I started it last night, and had to leave to program up all night and finish in the morning. Not being able to save layers isn't much fun. I use the program Sketchbook Express from Autodesk, which is basically a demo, so when I save images it merges all the layers. I'm thinking about now it would be worth the thirty bucks to get the full version, Sketchbook Pro. ^_^

Gonna color this soon...

Here's a work in progress. :)

It's a Squee-Shirt!

I got my custom t-shirt in the mail today! Extreme happiness!!! It's yellow, it's adorable, it's comfy! I want to make more designs and sell t-shirts like this.

Aww, so cute... Oh wait...

D: Beware the adorableness of creatures rigged with naturally occurring explosives!

Forrin and Soro!

I drew this up awhile ago, and I'm not sure anyone's seen it yet. :)
The elf is Forrin Sorolom, for those who haven't met him or do not recall, and his bird is named Soro.

From March

Tonight, I leave you with this self portrait from a few months ago, drawn on my iPod from the reflection on the window in Taco Bell. xD I had gone to a dance with some friends, and we dressed sorta twenties-ish. I had a good outfit for it, since, around the same time, my choir was singing a medley of music from Thoroughly Modern Millie, and it was all choreographed and costumed and awesome! So much fun. Enjoy!

Kitchi Kichi Kimchi!

Here's a sickly kitten I've been taking care of. :3 Today my cousin and I named him Kitchi, which means "brave" in the native american language Algonquin. And just because it's fun, I've been calling him Kitchi Kichi Kimchi. His name, Kitchi, then Kichi which is Japanese for "lucky", then Kimchi, which is the Korean everyday food item consisting of spicy pickled veggies (which I would like to try sometime... hmm...). Kind of a lame doodle, but still cute. It works, 'cause he actually is kind of an ugly sort of cute, hee hee. ^_^

SCRIBBLES!

Because, sometimes, a tastefully done, brightly colored scribble is just what one needs to keep in touch with one's inner child. :D And because I wanted to scribble.

Yay for lovely adorable designs. :3

More of the stylized kitty face. :3

Kitty Doodles

So, yesterday, I discovered Cafe Press. o.o I spent most of the day doodling adorable kitties and polka dot patterns, experimenting with Cafe Press's design interfaces the entire time. I'm very excited that I ordered myself a t-shirt with this stylized image of a kitten I used to have on it. :D (Also, by getting this t-shirt, I'm doing research. I'm considering designing and selling t-shirts and other such things more strongly than ever. ^_^)

Jinhai with a random laptop

He's just so much fun to draw. Especially in chibi form. O_O

More Character Doodles: Jinhai

This character is kind of a mystery.
I'm not sure quite how he'll play into the story, yet.
He claims to have been raised by pandas.

More Character Doodles: Reaza

We're basing the comic in the world of the game World of Warcraft, hence we get characters that look like this. :) This is my friend's character, Reaza, who seems to love potato soup.

Kyriellice

Meet Kyrie! A friend and I are planning to create a comic. Here's a character doodle I did. :)

A kitten and I drew this together. :)

Just doing my bit to spread the news...

I'm being a nice fan and helping spread the news about Limahl's new single. It's an awesome song. :D Sample
